Why is DMA the right music school for you?
The Dallas Music Academy prides itself in being a music school, not a music factory.
A “music factory” is a place where 300-400 students or more attend and instructors guide one student after another with the same book and same method. On the other hand, we limit enrollment to 150 students to provide personalized training in the style of the best music conservatories in the U.S.A. We don’t instruct, we teach. Each teacher has a small number of students that they mentor.
Patient and caring teachers tailor each lesson to each student’s special goals and learning styles, even students who have special needs. Dr. Gustavo Tolosa, Founder and Director of the Dallas Music Academy, holds a Doctorate in Musical Arts (Piano Performance) from the “Harvard of Music”, the Eastman School of Music, the Number One music school in the U.S.A. Dr. Tolosa knows how to create musical programs that inspire students of all ages and levels.
Individual lessons and group classes for children as young as two-years-old and adults and seniors 80+ years-old are offered 7 days a week. Explore our website and let us know if you have any questions. We hope to hear from you and welcome you as a member of the Dallas Music Academy family!
DMA is the Downtown Music School for Everyone!
We’ve taught music to students from two-years-old to over eighty-years-young. It’s your turn now.
Pre-K, Elementary and Middle School Students
Music lessons are a great way to stimulate creativity, coordination, discipline and abstract thinking. Our teachers reinforce these valuable life skills as your child develops their musical abilities.
High School and College Students
Students interested in a career in music or majoring in music can be coached and guided by Dr. Tolosa who has extensive experience in college teaching, requirements for auditions and successful career development. Dr. Tolosa coaches in person or through online systems.
Our teachers understand adult students have different goals and fashion their teaching to make learning fun and upbeat.
Our senior students prove you’re never too old to start learning music. We love that attitude and love to teach them. We offer music programs here at Dallas Music Academy as well as at Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Communities.

Our students consistently receive high markings on festivals, contests, auditions and the State Music Theory Test. Plus they have the opportunity to participate in recitals at least twice a year (not mandatory for adult students). We are listed in the Texas Music Office, Office of the Governor, Austin, Texas.
Dallas Music Academy’s Founder and Director, Dr. Gustavo Tolosa, holds a Doctorate in Music from the renowned Eastman School of Music, the #1 music school in the country (many call the Eastman School of Music, “The Harvard of Music”). Dr. Tolosa started the Dallas Music Academy with the mission to provide the highest music education accessible to everyone. Dr. Tolosa is also the Founder and Director of Musical Angels, Inc., a non-profit organization that brings music lessons to hospitalized children every week. Dr. Tolosa is a member of the Music Teachers National Association, Texas Music Teachers Association and Dallas Music Teachers Association. He prepares high school students and college students for a successful music career and he also manages and teaches for the Gifted and Talented Program at the Dallas Music Academy.
Our clients enjoy a lounge with comfortable chairs and couches, FREE Wi-Fi, complimentary bottled water and magazines. If you prefer, you can sit in on your child’s lesson any time you like.
We do not require semester minimums for lessons. Every student here is on a month-to-month basis. We only want students who want to be here!
