Philosophy

Drawing from my experience in international education and diverse music curricula, I tailor my instruction to meet the needs of each student—whether they are aspiring performers, composers, or scholars. I emphasize a well-rounded approach that integrates technique, theory, and creativity, ensuring that students not only build strong technical skills but also develop a deep understanding of music as an art form.

I encourage my students to explore, take risks, and think critically about their musical choices. Whether guiding a young songwriter in crafting their first song, mentoring a composer in shaping their artistic identity, or refining a saxophonist’s performance skills, I strive to foster curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong passion for music. Ultimately, my mission is to equip students with the tools they need to succeed—both in music and in life—by inspiring them to become thoughtful, expressive, and independent artists.
