Sam Huizar is a guitarist / composer from Southern California. He started performing at the age of 14 and was profoundly influenced by Gospel, Blues, R&B, Rock and some of the top guitarists in the L.A scene. He studied jazz guitar under Ron Eschete, Rinner Scivali, Frank Gambale and classical guitar under John Dearman from Grammy award winning L.A Guitar Quartet. He then studied Music Composition and Conducting at California State University of Fullerton and Music Production and Guitar performance at Berklee School of Music. Mr. Huizar has performed internationally with several leading artists such as: Jaci Velazquez, Poncho Sanchez, Alejandro Fernandez, Bobby Matos and many artists in Reggae, Country, Gospel and Contemporary Christian Music. He currently resides in Arlington and is working on a Masters of Music in Orchestral Conducting and stays active recording guitar sessions and music composing for several TV and Film companies. Teaching music with practical application is something that resonates with him and many students have been influenced by his creative and progressive approach to combining theory and performance.
