Dr. Gustavo Tolosa
Founder and Director, Teacher of Piano, Habla Español
Dr. Gustavo Tolosa, is an active concert pianist, teacher and adjudicator of national stature. Dr. Tolosa is originally from Argentina and moved to the U.S. in 1987 to continue his music career. He holds a Doctorate in Music from the renowned Eastman School of Music in New York.
Dr. Gustavo Tolosa holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts (DMA) from the prestigious Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. While at the Eastman School of Music, Dr. Tolosa studied with Barry Snyder (triple prize winner in the 1966 Van Cliburn International Competition). He is the founder and Executive Director of the Dallas Music Academy where he also teaches piano and prepares aspiring high-school musicians for college auditions to become music majors. Dr. Tolosa also teaches college students, adult students and children. He offers coaching sessions for piano teachers worldwide who are seeking to polish their teaching and performing skills.
Dr. Tolosa has been full-time and part-time faculty and administrator in several schools such as North Lake College, Brookhaven College, Texas Woman’s University, Abilene Christian University, University of Rochester, University of Redlands and Eastman School of Music.
Dr. Tolosa is in constant demand as competition adjudicator and as solo and chamber music performer throughout the U.S., Latin America, and Europe. He is also the Founder and Executive Director of Musical Angels, Inc., a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring the healing power of music through weekly piano and guitar lessons to hospitalized children.
