Derek Scott is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter who has been mastering his artistry for over a decade. Having performed original music, covers, and instrumental music in concerts and competitions across the country, he is highly experienced in performance, technique, and audience-connection. Derek is proficient in voice, piano, guitar, bass, and songwriting, and has taught lessons at his own private music studio and Lancaster Music School.
Derek was selected to be a featured piano soloist in Southwestern Assemblies of God University’s Steinway Fundraising Concert in 2009, and in 2013 he competed and won 1st place in the AG National Fine Arts Competition for Piano Solo and Guitar Solo in Orlando, FL.
Derek studied Commercial Music at Belmont University in Nashville, TN, with a Principal in Voice and a Songwriting Emphasis. In 2015, he appeared in Belmont University’s elite vocal ensemble on the PBS national broadcast of “Christmas at Belmont,” and he has been a concert background vocalist, bassist, and acoustic guitarist for CCM artists Jaci Velasquez and Nic Gonzales.
Derek has held two leading roles in musical theatre productions, and he has been playing in church bands and leading worship teams for nearly a decade. He is continually expanding his experience and expertise as a performance-driven artist with a high standard of excellence and creativity.
