Angel E. Rivera was born in San José Iturbide, Mexico and moved to Round Rock, TX in 2001.  He started playing Double Bass in Orchestras in 2008. He has received several all-state awards and played in the Texas All-Region Orchestra in 2009.

In 2011, Angel started playing Double Bass in the Austin Youth Orchestra for 4 years and in 2015 he started playing piano. He studied Music Education at Mary Hardin-Baylor where he continued playing bass for the Jazz Ensemble and Wind Symphony for 3 years.

Angel was a Teacher Assistant for one year at Rosedale school, a special need campus in Austin ISD. In 2019 he went back to college to study Music Therapy at Texas Woman’s University. There he continued to play Double Bass for the Chamber Orchestra and Wind Symphony. In total Angel has been playing Double Bass for 14 years and Piano for 5 years. 

He has previously supervised music therapy training for children with various needs including, but not limited to, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum (FAS), and Cerebral Palsy. He also has supervised training in using music for psychological rehabilitation in the field of mental health. He is currently seeking to complete a music therapy internship to fulfill the requirements to become a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC).
